The 'Training Lead'

The 'Training lead' is named as such, as it is a favourite among those engaged in dog training. This one lead allows for three lengths to be used in a variety of situations, simply by altering the position of the secondary clip. It can also be used to walk two dogs securely, by clipping one to each end and holding the centre of the strap.

The favourite is the 3 to 6 ft lead, which allows lead lengths of 3, 5 and 6 feet and can be comfortably worn around the body when not in use. Also available in a 4-8ft length.

These leads are entirely hand made from my popular 'Dark Havanna', Black or 'Australian Nut' English bridle leather hides.

The bridle leather is individualy hand cut from the hide, the ring and trigger clips are cast from solid brass and are hand stitched with a contrasting yellow or black thread.

By using the centuries old stitching method of securing the piece in a saddler’s clam, a saddler's  awl and two needles are used in order to stitch your lead by hand, in a manner which is far stronger and superior than that made by any machine.

These leads are made to order in widths of 1/2, 3/4 and 1 inch. Measuring 6 or 8 feet in length at the maximum extension (clip to clip), the solid brass trigger clips and 'O' rings allow for 3 different lead lengths. These being 3 feet, 5 feet and 6 feet or 4, 6 and 8 feet, all in a single lead.

A single edge crease which runs the entire length of the skin side of the leather gives that understated, professional look.
