The 'Military Style' Flat Collar

This flat collar is styled in the same manner as those used by many Police and Military dog handlers.

Offering a very secure method of fastening, this collar is immensely strong and practical.

These collars are entirely hand made from my popular 'Dark Havanna', 'Australian Nut' or solid black English bridle leather hides, measuring between 4 and 4.5mm in thickness.

Having been cut from the hide, the 'D' ring and buckle are cast from solid brass and are secured to the body of the collar by the traditional 'Saddler's stitch' with a contrasting ‘yellow’ or black thread.

By using the centuries old, hand stitching method of a saddler’s clam, an awl and two needles a stitch is formed which is far stronger and more secure than that made by any machine.

Measuring 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2 or 2 inches in width, finished with a bevelled edge, hand burnished and dyed to compliment the colour of the collar body, a single crease which runs the entire length of the skin side of the leather gives that understated, professional look.

Please note - All collars are made with the corresponding sized brassware. Half inch wide collars are designed for small dogs and are fitted with a solid brass 'O' ring to attach a lead, rather than the solid brass 'D' ring as fitted on the larger sizes.

1 1/4, 1 1/2 and 2 inch collars are fitted with heavy duty brass ware.
